Melanie Roy, BA, MSW, RSW

Hi there! My name is Melanie Roy, I’m a non-binary/agender therapist located in Windsor Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

My pronouns are she/they and I am comfortable with the use of she/her and they/them interchangably or exclusively.

As a therapist, I am kind, sincere, and non-judgmental, and my approach to therapy is based in collaboration.

Outside of my work, I’m a parent of one and an aunt to many. I enjoy playing video games, board games, and exploring narratives through mixed media. In my undergrad, I explored Fine Arts, Video Game Art, and Psychology, and ultimately brought my passion of art and connecting others together. This is an area I hope to continue exploring and grow.

Parenting and supporting teens and children is something I’ve always found joy and purpose in. In my own teenage years, I also struggled with anxiety, depression, self-harm, low self-esteem, and a lack of confidence. It’s always been my dream to support children, teens, individuals, and families dealing with the same problems and to help them feel seen and heard.

I have an ongoing commitment to embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in my practice. My offices are safe spaces no matter your identity.

I’ve dedicated a large part of my professional career towards cultivating an anti-oppressive and anti-colonial approach in all aspects of my work. Only by interrogating and reflecting on societal and personal biases and barriers can I hope to celebrate and uplift marginalised voices.
